Building cabana (part VII)

In a week all is done, in terms of construction, electricity, drainage and water supply.
In the meantime we have ordered the first batch of furniture, all hand made in teak solid wood.
Also we have bought the equipment for the kitchen and got a connection to gas.

With the cabana taking shape we decided to take a nap and chill on our new shade.  
I would rather have sand as the floor of the place, but we agreed it would be more hygienic having it with concrete.

  

A whole deep enough to put the bricks in it all aligned and surrounding the perimeter of the building.
This done, we filled the interior of the perimeter with gravel and poured the mixed concrete.


 

 

Building cabana (part IV)

Now that the main wooden structure is up, its time to cover the roof.
In order to keep the expenses low we decided to have the roof in Cadjan.  Natural woven coconut fiber that is used in the region with several applications including roofing.

We bought the material locally and got 4 labors to do the job which was finished in less than 2 hours.
